Joining Furries on Telegram
Hop on to Telegram! The furry community is most active on Telegram!

You’ve finally decided to enter the furry communications hub called Telegram! Awesome stuff! But first, here’s a few things to know:
- Just like any social media site, you may encounter people you may not like.
- There are scammers just like other social media sites.
- There are NSFW content that you can access from Telegram, but unless you specifically look for it, you will not encounter them.
Got all that? Now it’s time to start making a Telegram account! Here are the requirements to make one:
- A mobile device
- A phone number (this can be hidden later)
Now for actually setting an account up!
- Install the Telegram app from the Play Store or the App Store.
- Input your phone number.
- Input your 2FA code when requested.
- Setting up a username: Go to Settings > Account > then Username (Set Username) or use the search box at the settings tab on the top right on mobile and search “Username”.

Most if not all furry groups require you to set a username in order to enter. This is to avoid shady users from entering the group.
- Set a username that is available, public usernames are free of cost. Moderated Telegram groups typically auto-kick users with no usernames.
- Set a profile photo and a bio. Mods check your profile to ensure no shady users get into groups.
